Introduction

人类大脑是生物进化的登峰造极之作，人类自己还没能完全探其奥秘。脑是“灵魂”之所在，是意识肇始的中心。小到一颦一笑，大到艺术灵感，粗到动手动脚，细到穿针引线，无不受大脑支配。大脑这种复杂功能的运转我们无法了解，但是我们知道大脑运转的每一步都伴有电活动的变化。我们不能在自然条件下观察监测大脑递质的运转演化，但可以在自然条件下记录大脑电活动的变化，推断大脑生理或病理过程。脑电图是目前唯一可以非常敏感地实时监测脑功能变化的手段，对研究大脑的发育、生理过程和病理过程都有非常重要的意义。在临床医学应用方面也是如此，不但可用于中枢神经系统疾病的诊断、随访，也广泛用于儿童大脑发育状态的判断，发现全身疾病对中枢神经系统的影响，同时在麻醉、ICU、心脏手术的监测以及功能神经外科.尤其是癫痫外科的术前定位中也有重要的应用价值。
脑电图技术始于20世纪30年代。我国于1951年首次应用于临床，至今扩展至全国各级医院，成为最常应用的临床检查方法之一。遗憾的是，在浮躁之风盛行的今天，很少有人能静心研究脑电图技术及临床意义，以致以讹传讹之处甚多。脑电图仪普及了，检测水平却徘徊不前，有关著作也如凤毛麟角。
刘晓燕教授多年来长期坚持脑电图第一线的工作，将临床工作与脑电图结合，潜心研究脑电图的理论与实践，并涉及癫痫外科的术前定位等工作，非常难能可贵。
这本《小儿脑电图图谱》是作者继2006年《临床脑电图学》之后的又一著作，也是对后者的进一步补充。本书以图为主，直观清晰，包括了儿童和成人通用的基本概念和方法以及临床疾病，特别是各类小儿癫痫的图例。每图都附有简短精辟的说明，图文并茂，是临床医生、脑电图技师、医学生很有价值的参考读物。美中不足之处在于全身疾病对中枢神经系统影响的内容偏少，新生儿部分不同发育阶段早产儿和足月儿的正常图形不够全面。但瑕不掩瑜。希望再版时进一步补充。
