受几千年传统思想的影响，“性”在中国一直是一个充满神秘色彩的话题，与“性”有关的知识常常被忽略，正规的性教育缺位，未成年人性侵害的惩防教育更是盲点。即便提及性侵，更多的只是当成一种道德议题，缺乏科学的认识和法律层面的判断。许多未成年人因此成了无知的受害者，花样年华留下了一片挥之不去的阴霾。

道德的教化是循序渐进、春风化雨的，法律的严惩则是立竿见影、强势主动的。多年来，南宁市青秀区人民检察院在办理涉及未成年人性侵案件的过程中，注重教育引导和打击惩治相结合，既发挥道德对人们思想、行为的教育和引导功能，又发挥法律的约束和强制作用，使性侵预防知识成为孩子保护自己的武器，达到标本兼治的目的，并在此基础上紧密联系司法办案和检察机关工作实际，从诸多的案例中找出预防和打击未成年人性侵犯罪具有规律性的问题，并上升到理论高度进行深刻剖析和总结。由南宁市青秀区人民检察院王运华检察长和暨南大学教授张鸿巍博士任主编，将上述内容汇编成《儿童性侵预防教育读本》（以下简称《读本》），本书为填补我国防性侵教材教案空白作出了积极贡献。
