Author Description

序

我写这本书的初衷，是为了让电影摄影师们能够从他们自己的角度来谈一谈电影摄影的艺术和技巧。

电影摄影是看得见的，不像剪辑、美术设计或者声音那样隐藏在电影之中，摄影画面就是供大家观看的。现代的观众们已经学会了去理解摄影的美、戏剧张力及影像的光影，但是它在叙事、气氛和心理层面上的含义则需要更深一层的理解。这种更深一层的内涵就是摄影师—电影摄制中最重要的角色之一—所要掌握的。

没有光线，就没有影像；没有运动，也就不能称之为电影。电影画面经常会代表某种观点，也会以或自然或有意的形式去表现运动，目的可能是叙事，也可能是心理上的。摄影机将演员细致入微的表演记录下来，放置在一场戏的某个心理环境之中。摄影师的任务就是要将文字的剧本转换成视觉的影像。在现场，摄影师要将导演的意图转换成一系列或长或短的镜头，还要考虑到构图、角度、光学镜头的选择，最终能够组接成一场以视听语言为媒介的故事。

摄影师、导演和美术设计，正是这三个人的组合确立了一部电影的影像风格。摄影指导通常是摄影组的领队，其他成员还包括摄影助理、掌机员、灯光电工、灯光师和机械组员。

在大制片厂时代，摄影师们以黑白胶片拍摄，也由此创立了拍摄好莱坞电影的规则，直到二十世纪六十年代都是如此。例如，逆光可以制造出独特的画面美感；加柔可以掩盖脸部的瑕疵；仰拍可以让形象高大；引导视线可以平衡构图。这些技巧都被传承下来，成为电影人用以叙事的技巧和电影语言。

电影摄影师在改变电影语言的道路上起了非常重要的作用。在六七十年代，摄影师们开始使用自然光和更为便携的设备来创立出现代影像的风格。手持摄影机、消色、眩光、变焦距镜头和斯坦尼康，这些都使得电影人开始拍摄全新的电影，才得以反映我们这个飞速变化的时代和技术。
